KEJADIAN DAN KEBIJAKAN PENGENDALIAN KECACINGAN DI KABUPATEN HULU SUNGAI UTARA PROV. KALIMANTAN SELATAN
Abstract
Helminthiasis is a health problem that requires serious treatment, especially in the tropical areas because of its high prevalence. Worms are more common found in children and if left untreated it will cause hamper to the growth and difficulties in receiving lessons at school. Based on the results of the helminthiasis survey conducted in 2012 in Hulu Sungai Utara regency (HSU), the prevalence was 12.76%. This study was an observational study with a cross sectional method aimed to determine the incidence of helminthiasis and its control policies in HSU district. Sample size is calculated using the lemeshow formula, and elementary schools are selected based on recommendations from the Health Office HSU District. Stool samples were taken from grade 1 to grade 6 in three elementary schools and policy studies were conducted on program holders in the HSU Health Office and in the Puskesmas in selected schools in May-August 2015. The survey results indicated a prevalence of helminthiasis infestation of 2.27% of 440 children. Although there is no program specifically in helminthiasis control, the prevalence of helminthiasis in HSU has been below 10%.
Abstrak
Kecacingan merupakan masalah kesehatan yang memerlukan penanganan serius terutama di daerah tropis karena prevalensi yang cukup tinggi. Kecacingan lebih banyak ditemukan pada anak-anak dan apabila tidak ditangani akan mengakibatkan gangguan pada pertumbuhan dan gangguan dalam menerima pelajaran. Berdasarkan data terakhir survei kecacingan yang dilakukan pada tahun 2012 di kabupaten Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU) didapat prevalensi sebesar 12,76%. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan metode cross sectional bertujuan untuk mengetahui kejadian kecacingan serta kebijakan pengendaliannya di kabupaten HSU. Besar sampel dihitung menggunakan rumus lemeshow, dan sekolah dasar yang dipilih berdasarkan rekomedasi dari Dinas Kesehatan Kab. HSU. Sampel tinja diambil dari anak kelas 1 sampai kelas 6 pada tiga sekolah dasar dan sedangkan studi kebijakan dilakukan pada pemegang program di Dinas Kesehatan HSU dan Puskesmas yang sekolah dasar diwilayah kerjanya menjadi sampel penelitian dilaksanankan pada bulan Mei-Agustus 2015. Hasil penelitian menunjukaan prevalensi kecacingan sebesar 2,27%. Walaupun tidak ada program khusus dalam pengendalian kecacingan namun prevalensi kecacingan di HSU sudah berada di bawah 10%.
